Union Health Ministry to send 4 Lakhs Covid Vaccines to States, UTs

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in a statement said that over 4 lakhs COVID vaccines will be sent to states and union territories (UTs) in the next three days.

The statement was made by the ministry while briefing about the 26 crores vaccine doses that have been provided to states and UTs in the country so far.

It clarified that more than 1.53 crore vaccine doses are still available with the states and the UTs to be administered.
The data that was made available on Sunday revealed that the total consumption, including wastages is 25, 12, 66,637 doses.

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Central government has been supporting the states and the UTs by providing them Covid-19 vaccines totally free of cost.

As per reports, the Central government has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the states and the UTs.
