ULFA-I’s arms and ammunition recovered in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Security Force on Saturday recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions belonging to ULFA-I from Assam-Tripura bordering Habiganj district. According to reports, 13 rocket launchers and a large number of IEDs were recovered during the operation.

The Bangladesh Army and Rapid Action Battalion launched the joint operation to recover the huge cache of ammunition. The search operation was carried out at Satchari National Park under Habiganj district on Friday evening.

After the 24-hour operation, senior Bangladesh Army official, Colonel Mashiur Rahman confirmed that they have recovered huge ammunitions that belonged to the anti-talk ULFA-I group.

Meanwhile, the army has appealed to the court asking to destroy the recovered ammunition.

It may be mentioned herethat as many as 12,000 arms belonging to ULFA-I were recovered in Bangladesh since2014.
