ULFA blasts rocks R-Day

The banned United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) on the Republic Day showed their strength after a long gap as they simultaneously attacked st least four places of upper Assam sending a message that following the CAA protest the ULFA was regaining lost ground.

There were reports of blasts coming from Duliajan and Sonari, both considered bastion of the ULFA in their heydays.

Accordingto reports received so far, there were reports of blasts and grenadeexplosions,  at Dibrugarh, Duliajan,Sonari and Doomdoma.

Therewere some reports of the ULFA activities but the police officials were takenaback at the audacity of the ULFA men as most of the blasts took place verynear to the police station.

Itwas a clear message to the authorities by the ULFA who ensured that blast donot cause any casualty but impact became louder.

The first blasts took place near the Duliajan police station which causes damage to the footpath. Meanwhile, two ULFA activists threw a grenade near a shot at Sonari. Two more blasts took place at Graham Bazar of Dibrugarh near a Gurudwara while the fourth blast took place near a pool at Doomdoma.

AssamChief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condemned the incident and DGP BhasakarMahanta told newsmen that senior police officials have rushed to the spot.

This is noteworthy that there were a series of an intelligence report that steady stream of youths has gone to the ULFA following the anti CAA protest.  Meanwhile, former ULFA leader and two times MP Independent MP Naba Sarania warned that of the interest of non Bodos are not protected in Mondays new Bodo Accord, at least 2000 youths would join ULFA from the Bodo areas.
