The mastermind behind the horrific incident of attempted child sacrifice, that took place in Kalaigaon area under Udalguri district on Saturday, Ramesh Saharia is still absconding as Police have failed to arrest him even after 24-hours since the incident was reported.
Locals in Kalaigaon said that Jadab Saharia's family had attempted to sacrifice the child as per the command of Ramesh Saharia, a Tantrik, who hails from Dipila area under Darrang district. Following Ramesh's orders, the Saharia family had also set ablaze their house and destroyed their vehicles, while chanting mantras on Saturday. The family members of Saharia also stripped off their clothes as per the commands of the Tantrik.
RameshSaharia's wife has admitted that her husband had close relation with scienceteacher Jadab Saharia's family.
Meanwhile,Jadab Saharia's son, Pulakesh Saharia, who was admitted at GMCH with seriousbullet injuries died on Sunday. He had sustained injuries when police resortedto firing to bring the situation under control on Saturday.
