Tarun Gogoi has the blood of Badan and Ajmal: Moni Madhab

AGP candidate from Kaliabor, Moni Madhab Mahanta on Tuesday said that former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has the blood of Badan and Ajmal. He also said that he would oppose Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the parliament.

Attacking the Ex-CM, Moni Madhab said that the blood of Badan Borphukan and Badruddin Ajmal runs in the veins of Tarun Gogoi. Badan had betrayed the Ahom kingdom by inviting the Burmese to invade Assam and is known as the symbol of disloyalty in Assam. Moni Madhab criticized Gogoi and the Congress for their "secret" alliance for the Lok Sabha election. Tarun Gogoi's son and sitting MP Gaurav Gogoi is the prime opponent of Mahanta in Kaliabor.

Moni Madhab, the brother of Assam Minister Keshab Mahanta, has also said that he would oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the parliament if elected from the seat. Notably, he recently quitted AASU as a vice-president to join AGP. The AGP has faced the flak of people in the State after it joined hands with BJP for the coming LS polls. The regional party had earlier ended the alliance with the saffron party over the CAB.
