Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently on a two-day Assam visit. On Monday, Shah has attended the 4th Conclave of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati.
Addressing the conclave, Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that "The 4th NEDA Conclave is one of its kind as it is the first event to witness the presence of all 8 CMs of the North East states. Amit Shah Ji has been painstakingly guiding us towards realizing a cherished vision and glorious future for the North East. We owe him a great deal for having been a guiding light."
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had envisioned North East to become an engine of growth. Last 5 years have seen unprecedented growth and a massive push to the region. It is emerging as a powerful hub." Sarma said.
"I strongly feel there is an urgent need to have a regional tourism policy to bolster the prospects of tourism in the region": Sarma added.
