Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday visited the ongoing Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha plenary in Rangia during which he announced a financial package of Rs 3 crores to the Sangha.
Calling it a divine experience, CM Sarma, who attended the 93rd Session of the historic Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha also invited controversial political opponent Badruddin Ajmal to the convention.
Speaking there, the Assam CM assured that as long as Assam is under the governance of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Sangha will not face any financial problems.
While there, the Assam CM asked the organizers to hold the centenary celebrations in a grand manner in Guwahati, further assuring all help from the government in doing so.
Meanwhile, he also spoke on the historic Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, saying, "Where there is Ram, there is Krishna. This was preached by the great saint Sankardeva."
Sharing a video of his experience on X, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "A divine experience today at the 93rd Session of the Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha. Gurujona’s teachings of harmony, spirituality and humanity will always be Assam’s eternal inspiration."
