Effortswere being made by the Northeast Frontier Railway to help stranded passengersat Guwahati. Special passenger trains are being run to reach differentdestinations in Upper Assam, informed NF Railway sources.
"OnThursday Nine trains to and from Dibrugarh in Assam were cancelled andpartially cancelled due to agitations against the amended Citizenship Act," NFRChief Public Relation Officer was quoted as saying by news agencies. "OnThursday one train was operated to Dimapur and one each to Furkating andDibrugarh on Friday," he further added.
Threetrains, including the Rajdhani Express travelling from Dibrugarh to New Delhi,were cancelled, while six trains, including the Brahmaputra Mail from Delhi to Dibrugarh,were partially cancelled, stated a press release.
