The Food Safety Department has issued notices to morethan seven restaurant in Guwahati's Commerce Point area on Wednesday for failingto maintain the basic hygiene standard. The food safety department has furtherordered to close these restaurants for seven days for proper renovation duringthis period.
The restaurants are: J14, Kanchan D Corner, Krishna FastFoof, New Momo Ghar, Roll Corner, Red Pepper, Honey's: The food story and SKHIFast Food.
During an inspection by the food safety department, "Ithas been found that the utensils and equipments were not maintained properlyand were dirty," said an official of the department. "We have found cockroach insidethe water tank of J14," added the official.
The restaurants were directed to take corrective measureswithin the period of 7 (seven) days.
It may be mentioned here that earlier, the Food Safety department had ordered to close the famous Reboti Chat House in Panbazar area.
