Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday arrived on a two-day visit to Guwahati, during which he chaired the North Eastern Council (NEC) Plenary and will attend a convention of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) on Monday.
Shah attended the 68th Plenary of the NEC at the Assam Administrative Staff College here in the first programme of his schedule.
Shah on Sunday said that the Centre will "not touch" Article 371 of the Indian Constitution that is applicable to the Northeast and not a single illegal immigrant would be allowed in the region.
