The Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal has finally spoken up. "I do not have the impudence to betray my people", said Sonowal.
Speaking at an event in Nagaon's Neherubali, the CM said that he would work for the safety and security of the people of Assam along with the Ministers-MLAs. "I have not taken up the responsibility of CM just for power", added Sonowal.
Addressing the gathering, Sonowal also expressed his concerns on the implementation of the Clause 6 and urged the people to keep faith on the government. Also, "None of the erstwhile governments have ever attempted to implement it, but now are trying to disrupt our government in doing so", said the CM.
Emphasising on AASU, the CM said "I respect AASU, I have also come from the same platform. People have made me a CM with much trust and I will never betray it".
