‘Rongali’ kick starts tomorrow

'Rongali' the fifth edition of the biggest carnival of northeast India is all set to kick start from April 05. The event, which will go on till April 07, will be held at Sonaram Field, Bharalumukh.

The three-day event is organised to brought to spread the word of peace, harmony and brotherhood through art, music, tradition and modernity.

Folk dances, food stalls, craft exhibition, Agri Horti stalls, Start Up success stories of region, Entrepreneurship Ideation zone will adorn the grounds of the event.

Names such as Zubeen Garg, Papon, young rapper Rahul Rajkhowa, Ritviz; bands like the Flower Child, Undying Inc, Lagori and various other artistes are all geared up to set the stage on fire.

In a statement the organisers said, "Besides Assam, the festival will showcase the cultures of various tribes and communities of other northeastern states. Spectacular dance forms such as Cheraw dance of Mizoram, Thang Ta, Dhol Chalam of Manipur, Hozagiri of Tripura, Naga warrior dance from Nagaland, etc, will be presented".
