Trade organisations, various other organisations and local residents have staged protest in Duliajan blocking Tipling road, halting hundreds of vehicle commuting on that road, demanding construction of new road.
The Duliajan-Tinsukia-Digboi-Nahakatia-Dibrugarh connecting road has been completely blocked.
Protestors have alleged that lakhs of amount that had been allotted for making of the roads have been slipped into the pockets of PWD officials and workers.
According to reports, around 25 lakh rupees had been allotted for the road seven years ago.
Police has been deployed to control the situation in the area.
