BJP MLA Shiladitya Deb said on Friday that he never said about leaving the party, but only said about resigning from his current post. He added that he deferred his decision to resign by a week only when advised by Central leadership.
The MLA who often makes headlines with his controversial statements also said that BJP Assam President Ranjit Kumar Das was not answering his calls as he feared he might infected with COVID-19 if he did so.
Accusing the "senior BJP bag-carrying leader" of causing a rift within the party, he said that because of him, many old leaders in the party have ended up getting a cold shoulder.
