PM Modi to address 2 rallies in Assam today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed two consecutive elections rallies in Assam's Moran and Gohpur. He campaigned for four BJP candidates in upper Assam- Topon Kumar Gogoi, Rameshwar Teli, Pradan Baruah and Pallab Lochan Das.

Notably, the prime issues of the State find no place in his speeches in both the rallies. He refrain himself from addressing issues like flood, erosion, big dam and others that have been continuously affecting the lives of the common people in the State. The Prime minister said that his government in Centre has been trying to "protect the cultural heritage of Assam".

During 2014 rallies in the State, he had vowed to take action against the illegal immigrants living in the State. Though on Saturday he loosely mentioned that his government has acted against illegal immigrants, he did not mentioned what were the actions that have been taken against the illegal immigrants living in the State during his regime.

Interestingly, PM Narendra Modi also ignored the issue of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in his rallies in Moran and Gohpur. Earlier, BJP chief Amit Shah had promised to bring CAB once again, if voted to power.
