Police suspect disgruntled candidates set on fire Naba Doley’s motor company

As the Panchayat appointment scandal has rocked Assam, a mysterious fire in a motor company owned by mail culprit and Panchayat Minister Naba Kumar Doley saw 22 vehicles going up in the smoke last night forcing police to suspect that disgruntled candidates might have set up the fire.

According to police report, a huge fire engulfed a stock of APE vehicles in Guwahati's Boragaon last night. The fire gutted 22 APE tempos. The establishment was under the Abutani Marken Time Private Limited, which is owned by Minister Naba Kumar Doley, who is the main accused of the appointment scam.

Although he has denied any involvement even as Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered an Additional Chief Secretary level inquiry, the police suspected that fire might have been triggered by meritorious students who did not get jobs due to malpractice by Mr Doley in his henchmen.

According to reports, there were more than 300 tempos in the warehouse. Mr Naba Doley has been the dealer of various commercial vehicles from smaller vehicles to huge Bharat Benz trucks.

As Panchyat recruited 900 people in various posts, there are reports of widespread cash for job and nepotism for BJP party workers.
