A total of 492 projects with a project cost of Rs 6,642 crore with central assistance of Rs 2,102 crore has been approved in the 45th CSMC meeting. In the meeting, Central Assistance of Rs140 Crore was Sanctioned for the state of Assam.
The total central assistance sanctioned for the state so far is 1,217 Crore.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved the construction of around over 1,40,134 more affordable houses for the benefit of urban poor under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
The cumulative number of houses sanctioned under PMAY(U) is now 85,11,574.
PMAY commonly known as "Housing for All" mission for the urban area has been implemented with effect from July 6, 2015, to provide central assistance to implementing agencies.
This scheme is converged with other schemes to ensure that all houses have a toilet, Saubhagya Yojana electricity connection, Ujjwala Yojana LPG gas connection, access to drinking water and Jan Dhan banking facilities, etc
