Prime Minister Narendra Modi has filed his nomination for reelection from Varanasi.
PM Modi arrived at the District Magistrate's office after a meeting with NDA leaders. All senior leaders of the BJP, and North East Democratic Alliance (NDA), including Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal, are present for the occasion. Former Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Parkash Singh Badal, Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) chief Nitish Kumar, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) head Ram Vilas Paswan, leaders of the AIADMK, Asom Gana Parishad, Apna Dal and Shiv Sena Chief Udhav Thackrey and Assam BJP Leader, Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present, said Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Salabh Mani Tripathi.
Pm Modi before filling his nomination papers for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi constituency today was seen taking part in a massive roadshow through the city and also seen offering Ganga Aarti on Thursday. The road show meandered through the ancient temples and ghats such as Assi, Bhadini, Sonarpura, Madanpura, Jangambari and Godowlia and culminated at the Dashashwamedh Ghat.
The crowd cheers on when the Prime Minister says, "Kamal ka phool daba ke toh dekho, kaisi sungand aati hai…" while explaining how to urge voters to give BJP a chance.
Union home minister Rajnath Singh attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nomination filing in Varanasi today said that the NDA will get a three-fourth majority this Lok Sabha election.
PM Modi's first stop after filing his papers will be Madhya Pradesh where he will hold a rally in Sidhi and Jabalpur. Besides, PM Modi will hold a mega joint rally with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will also be present at the event.
