Amidst all the promises and assurances of fuel price stability before coming into power in the Country, BJP government has repeatedly failed and disappointed the nation. India on Sunday witnessed one of the highest fuel prices ever with petrol prices going as high as Rs. 84.07 in Mumbai and diesel prices at a high of Rs 73.45 in Hyderabad.
In Assam, petrol prices skyrocketed to a all time high of Rs 78.37 per litre on Sunday. For a first for the state, diesel prices crossed to Rs 70 mark for the first time in Assam. Diesel price stood at Rs 70.53 per litre on Sunday.
Petrol prices increased by 34 paise per litre in Guwahati while diesel prices went up by 28 paise per litre.
Following the 19-day break on daily price revision mechanism by oil companies ahead of the Karnataka elections, fuel prices have now been hiked for seven consecutive days since May 14.
Diesel prices have been hiked by Rs 1.70 per litre in Assam while petrol prices have risen by Rs 1.64 since May 13.
