Peace talks between ULFA and the Centre heading in a fruitful direction: Arabinda Rajkhowa

Chairing a meet between United Liberation front of Assam (ULFA) and the Centre in Delhi, senior leader Arabinda Rajkhowa informed that the peace talks are in the right direction and soon a conclusion will be reached.

In a press meet, Rajkhowa said that the talks are currently in its final phase and both the sides have agreed to the charter of demands. "We have discussed on the possibilities of constitutional and political security too," Rajkhowa added.

Talking about his former see-to man in ULFA, Paresh Barua, Rajkhowa said, "It's his personal decision to not agree to the charter of demands as ULFA (Independent) is a separate entity. But he is always welcome to join us in the peace talks and changes his mind."

Rakhowa also extended his support in opposing implementation of the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Assam.

He also said that they are undecided about a future in politics. "People of Assam will decide if we need to join politics," the senior ULFA leader added
