The oldest game reserve in the state, the Orang National park reopened for tourists after its routine closure for the monsoon season on Thursday.
Buddin Chandra Hazarika, principal of Kharupetia College opened the gate of the park in the presence of various environmentalists.
The visitors would now be able to go on open jeep safari and elephant rides on designated routes inside the park
"I request the people of Assam to unite together and popularize Orang National Park around the world and I believe tourists will enjoy the natural beauty of the park", Hazarika said.
The gates of Agoratoli Range, famous for migratory avines and pelican gallery was also reopened for tourists on Thursday. Forest Conservator Jorses Ahmed opened the gates of the range.
Earlier on October 12 The Kaziranga National park reopened for tourists after its routine closure for the monsoon season.
