The huge rise in prices of onion has become an annualoccurrence, bringing tears to people's eyes. After the hue and cry, thegovernment has opened its eyes to the reality and promised to increase thesupply of onions by importing the vegetable.
But the imported onions will take a long time to reach the market and provide relief to the people. In the Tangla region, the price of onion reached Rs 100 from only Rs 60. The situation is the same across the state.
The story is the same in the other districts and the regions too where onion prices are touching nearly Rs 100/kg.
