In a one-day discussion session on Draft National EducationPolicy, 2019, Chairman of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) CB Sharmasaid that school education should address critical issues like suicide.
Sharma said that young children are more vulnerable and hence theissue needs to be emphasized on. Statistics reveal that a student commitssuicide every hour in India.
Sharma, while sharing his views on the draft education policy said that more diverse views are required towards it so that it may be directed towards positivity adding that the draft educational policy must be prepared in such a way that the sprawling coaching centers become obsolete.
Sharma stressed on the increasing number of coaching centerssaying that it needs to be curbed and migration of professors from oneinstitute to another needs to be stopped.
Moreover, Manipur Education Minister Th. Radheshyam who was alsopresent in the meeting said that education is meant to transform India into astronger nation. He also said that the draft education policy has been redefinedto bring a better education system in the country.
