In yet another sensational incident in Guwahati, thieves broke into the Borkholia Dihingia Naamghar at Uzan Bazaar on Saturday night. The thieves looted and vandalized items in the Naamghar situated at the Sati Radhika-Shanti road.

Thismorning the locals spotted the broken lock and opened the door of the Naamghar,only to find all items vandalized and the donation box missing.

According to locals, the thieves broke into the Naamghar as rain lashed the city and ran away with the donation box. The Naamghar is barely 400 meters from the Latasil Police Station. Meanwhile, police initiated an investigation and likely to nab the culprits soon.

Earlier, in November, thieves looted, vandalized the famous Ugratara Temple of the Guwahati and took away the main deity. Later, the Golaghat Police has recovered the centuries-old deity on May 1.
