Renowned social worker from Assam Prasanna Kumar Pincha breathed his last on Saturday at Max Hospital in New Delhi. He was the first disable person to serve as the Chief Commissioner of Disability Commission of Government of India.
Pincha, who himself was blind belonged from Jorhat and was the founder Principal of Jorhat Blind School. He later took charge as the Joint Secretary of Social Welfare Department of Government of Assam and took active participation in the works of the International NGO Action Aid Association. He was the regional editor of the NGO.
