The Assam government has finally decided to amend the rules and regulations of the examinations conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). The Assam government on Thursday submitted an affidavit in Gauhati High Court in this regard.
According to the affidavit, the Assam government has assured that it would conduct the APSC exams as per new rules and regulations.
Earlier, the APSC had changed the rules and regulations of conducting examination in 2010 during the tenure of suspended APSC chairman Rakesh Paul. Following the change of rules and regulations of the examinations, rampant corruption occurred in the APSC, which included the infamous 'Cash-for-job' scam.
