Amid protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) bill 2016, the North East Students Organisation (NESO) will observe 'black day' on entire North East on Saturday protesting against the open fire by Tripura police on the peaceful protesters on January 8. The open fire by police on the injured 18 people.
After the incident, an ambulance transporting those injured in the clashes opposing over the Citizenship Amendment Bill was seen being trashed by Jawans of the Tripura State Rifles.
In an attempt to keep law and order under control, AASU leader Samujjal Bhattacharjee along with few other NESO members was stopped in Tripura on Friday when they went to see the injured protesters at Khumulwng hospital .
NESO adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya condemned the incident on Friday and said that Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar couldn't understand the pain of indigenous people as he was of foreign origin.
