An earthquake of 3.1 magnitudes struck the tremor-prone Sonitpur district on Thursday evening.
Tremors were felt at 28km WSW of Tezpur at 6.47 pm.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.1, Occurred on 29-07-2021, 18:47:30 IST, Lat: 26.60 & Long: 92.51, Depth: 28 Km , Location: 28km WSW of Tezpur, Assam," National Centre of Seismology tweeted.
Several earthquakes keep striking Assam and other parts of Northeast. The last earthquake that struck Assam was on July 23.
