Massive fire guts property worth Rs. 15L in Kharupetia

A massive fire broke outat Gendar Chowk area in Darrang's Kharupetia on Thursday night. According toreports, as many as eight houses were burnt down by the fire.

The fire broke due to agas cylinder blast in one of the houses. Reportedly, property worth more thanRs. 15 lakhs and important documents charred to ashes due to the fire.

Later, the fire tendersreached the scene and controlled the fire with the help of locals.
