In a heinous act a man was hacked to death by his younger brother at Sakumotha tea garden in Bishwanath district on Tuesday.
A long-running family dispute is believed to be the reason behind the murder of the deceased, Keshav Tati.
According to reports, Arun Tati, launched a lethal attack on Keshav with an axe following a heated verbal argument.
Relatives and local people rescued in to the rescue and rushed Keshav to the nearest civil hospital where he was declared dead.
The Biswanath Chariali Police held Arun Tati after the incident and is under took him under custody.
Locals of the area are in shock and outrage following the incident.
