LPG Transporter Association withdraws protest

The LPG Transporters Association have withdrawn their protest for two months following a meeting between Food and  Civil supply department officials, and IOC. Minister of Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Phani Bhusan Choudhury who was also present at the meeting assured that the demands of the Association would be fulfilled within the two months. Another meeting would be held with the IOC and LPG Transporters Association with state government on 20th Nov.

The meeting was called as the indefinite strike of the LPG Transporter Association entered sixth day today and severe crisis of LPG cylinders was expected to hit the state.

The LPG Transport Association's  staged an indefinite protest against Indian Oil Corporation Limited ( IOCL) since Sept 9th.

LPG Transportation Association halted the supply of LPG at a bottling plant in North Guwahati. A meeting was arranged between the IOCL and the LPG Transport Association but the discussion was unsuccessful fueling the LPG Transporter Association  members to resumed their protest. More than 1200 trucks and tankers were trapped at North Guwahati's bottling plant.
