KMSS to protest against big dam

Once again, KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi opposes the construction of river dams in Arunachal Pradesh during a press meet on Thursday. Demanding closure of the construction of 168 river dams in Arunachal Pradesh, KMSS will stage protest against river dams on August 31.

KMSS also claimed that 35 dams included Mullaperiyar, Cheruthoni, part of Idukki reservoir and Idamalayar of Kerala, wreaked havoc in Kerala and Assam will have to face severe consequences once the construction is complete like Kerala. The dam would have an adverse impact on the environment and the people living in the downstream areas of Assam.
