Likewise in several places of India, International Yoga Day was also observed across Assam on Thursday with a number of eminent personalities from the state being present for the occasion.
Assam government arranged a central program on International Yoga Day at Nagaon, which witnessed Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Health & Finance Minister of the state Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in attendance to name a few.
Senior AGP leader and former CM Prafulla Kumar Mahanta was also seen at Nagaon alongside the other ministers practicing yoga moves.
Meanwhile, Central Cabinet Minister Vijay Goel and Assam BJP's state president Ranjit Das along with many distinguished personalities from the state and high ranked government officials attended the International Yoga Day program in Guwahati's Sonaram Baruah Field
Apart from this, International Yoga Day is also being observed in almost all districts, headquarters and sub-divisions of the state.
