India Women's cricket team will take on England Women's team in the first T20I of the three-match T20 series on Monday in Guwahati. Smriti Mandhana, who is set to lead the Indian team after injured captain Harmanpreet Kaur was ruled out of the T20I campaign against England, on Sunday said that the environment in Guwahati is 'favourable' to team India.
Smriti said that the crowd will turn up in big numbers to watch the match on Monday. "All the players are happy with the reception we have received here. We had 15,000-18,000 people watching us in Baroda, we hope we get the same number of people watching us tomorrow, it will help improve the women's game," said Mandhana.
India had defeated England in the ODI series 2-1 and now they would hope to win the T20I series.
Meanwhile, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has made entry free for the T20I matches to popularize women cricket in Assam.
