Among all the districts of Assam, Sivasagar has shown goodresults in the Higher Secondary examinations under the science stream.
Sivasagar with 93.42 pass percentage has scored the highest while with 92.43 pass percentage, Jorhat secured the second position and Baksa with 92.00 pass percentage has clinched the third best among all the districts of the state.
In Sivasagar, a total of 1034 candidates appeared for the HSexamination under the science stream. Out of the total, 633 candidates secured1st division, 304 secured 2nd division and 29 secured 3rddivision. 966 candidates have been able to qualify in the examination.
In Jorhat, 1705 candidates appeared for the exams, out ofwhich 994 secured 1st division, 519 secured 2nd divisionand 63 secured 3rd division. Total 1576 candidates have passed theexamination.
In Baksa, a total of 550 candidates appeared under thescience stream. 281 candidates secured 1st division, while 201secured 2nd division and 24 candidates secured 3rddivision. Out of the total 550, 506 have passed the examinations.
It may be noted that, like the other streams in science too,the pass percentage has improved. With 86.59% in 2019, pass percentage hasimproved as compared to 2018 with 85.74% and 2017 with 86.24%.
