Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi slammed Finance Minister of Assam Himata Biswa Sarma on Thursday and referred him as 'Hitler of Assam'. Gogoi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government has pushed Assam to an unfortunate turmoil.
Talking about Himant's statement on BJP to change Assam's fate in 20 years,Gogoi urged BJP to focus more on their performance and run the government smoothly.
The former Chief Minister also said the BJP government has become paralyzed and hence the students of the state are made to take the streets and protest.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi on Gogoi said the BJP government has turned fascist and have started crushing democracy. Recalling the old days Gogoi said ' Even I was waved black flags during my tenure"
Gogoi also alleged that the BJP government do not care about the interest of the indigenous people and the government through the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 has created conflict between the Bengali and Assamese community.
There has been a constant competition between Himanta Biswa Sarma and Sarbananda Sonowal of who can be more loyal to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said Gogoi.
Gogoi added, no Chief Minister in the History of Assam stood against the interest of the indigenous people except Sarbananda Sonowal.
Lambasting Narendra Modi, Gogoi said, "Modi is frightened with handing over responsibility to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.."
