After the news aired on Pratidin Time regarding the AFI's displeasure on Hima, she is hurrying back to training camp.
Pratidin Time presented the emotion of sports lovers who hold high expectations for Hima. As an impact of the news, now Hima has decided to join NIS Camp. From the beginning when she arrived in Assam, the channel has been reiterating that the athlete should target for Tokyo Olympics 2020 and she needs more to prepare herself for the event.
Athletic Hima Das on Sunday morning expressed her opinion following the alarms of Athletic Federation of India (AFI) and media backlashes.
Expressing her opinion to Pratidin Time, Hima said that she has decided to go Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NIS Patiala) on October 17 and will resume her training for Tokyo Olympic 2020.
Hima directly denied the allegation that she is wasting time in non-sporting events. Her coach Nipon Das and she herself told that they are running primary practice for Tokyo 2020 at home ground in full swing.
She confidently assured that her well wishers would get a good result from her in the upcoming international event and said "Don't worry; I need only blessings from the well-wishers so that I can achieve everything".
Speaking to media, Hima's coach Nipon Das said that she is preparing for Tokyo event in home ground. Very soon, she will join in NIS Patiala camp.
It may be mentioned that AFI president Adile Sumariwalla had urged Assam Government to send Hima in NIS camp as the AFI was unhappy over athlete Hima das not resuming her training for Tokyo Olympic and expressed displeasure that Hima das has been wasting time in non sporting events.
The AFI is worried over the fact that she is the only world champion at this moment for India in athletic and is a great prospect considering the fact that she is just 18 and have shown tremendous progress over the past 16 months.
After a grand welcome to Assam, she was expected to return after a week of stay at her village. But she was seen doing social dos and commercial engagements all over India in the past one month which has raised eyebrows not only amongst the sports enthusiasts, journalists and officials but also her die-hard fans.
