Launching a scathing attack on the Hagrama Mohilary, Kokrajhar Lok Sabha MP Naba Sarania on Wednesday said that the Bodo Territorial Council (BTC) chief in the last 15 years has not done anything to develop the area.
"Every year BTC receives Rs 5000 core and with this amount, there should have been a major facelift of the region. But this is not the case. BTC chief Hagram Mohilary has done nothing substantial," Sarania said at the sidelines of an event in Dhomdhoma.
He also expressed confident that in the 2020 BTC polls, Oboro Suraksha Samiti (OSS) will win 27 out of 40 seats and the OSS will come to power in BTC.
"Apart from ruling BTC for 15 years, Hagrama Mohilary led Bodoland People's Front (BPF) has been a ally of the state government and have had three ministers at the state cabinet. Even then the socio-economic condition of BTC has not improved an inch," Sarania further said.
Speaking further Sarania also said that he would try and solve a number of issues of the area within the next two years.
