GU Gets New Vice-Chancellor

Professor Pratap Jyoti Handique has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University by Governor of Assam and Professor of the University Jagdish Mukhi.

The newVice-Chancellor shall hold his office for a period of five years or till heattains the age of 70 years whichever is earlier as per provision under theGauhati University Act, 1947, as amended up to date.

Presently,Pratap Jyoti Handique is a Professor in the Department of Bio-technology,Gauhati University.
