Aamis (The Ravening)- which will be released on 22nd November in Assam and beyond, is going to be an intriguing tale of dark love.
National-award winning director Bhaskar Hazarika's acclaimed and highly anticipated Assamese film 'Aamis'- a story about love, lust, and basic instincts will be premiered at the 3rd Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) 2019 on 2nd November (Saturday) at 3:30 pm.
Before its release in the cinemas, the cinephiles have got the opportunity to watch the film at GIFF 2019. Earlier, renowned Bollywood producer and director Anurag Kashyap did an announcement through his official Instagram handle, and made a video appeal to cinephiles to watch Aamis (The Ravening)– upon its release on November 22, saying "you have not seen anything like 'Aamis' coming out of India."
Aamis reflects the downside of repressed love while alsogiving us a taste of a culture without making it seem exotic or abnormal.
Aamis premiered at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival inNew York earlier this year and was the toast of audiences at the recentlyconcluded 21st Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival with Star.
The film stars debutants Lima Das and Arghadeep Barua, whileNeetali Das, Sagar Saurabh, and Manash K Das comprise the supporting cast.Aamis has been produced by Poonam Deol and Shyam Bora, in association withWishberry Films. This is Bhaskar Hazarika's second film after the NationalAward winning 'Kothanodi'. This original dark love story is being presented byAnurag Kashyap.
Aamis has received two awards at the recently concluded Singapore South Asian International Film Festival, Best Director for Bhaskar Hazarika and Best Actress for Lima Das. The film will release in Assam and selected cities of India on 22 November.
