Voting for the third phase and final phase for Assam Lok Sabha seats is underway in four constituencies of the state. At this crucial hour, there are reports coming in of EVMs not functioning.
Voting at all polling stations of the state has started from 7 AM and most of the centres are witnessing long queues of voters who have come out to exercise their franchise. Malfunctioning or dysfunctional EVMs stirred a situation of chaos at the concerned polling stations.
Some of the polling booths where EVMs were or are dysfunctional are:
- Kahilipara High School, East Guwahati,
- Sadilapur LP School, Pandu
- 135 no. Rabindra Vidyapeeth English Medium School, Pandu
- 156 no. Dreamland School, Pandu
- 05. no centre in Beloguri middle School, Bongara
- 51 no. Phulguri LP School, West Guwahati
- 176 no. Baghbori High School
- 83 no. polling booth in Baksa Jalah High School
- 117 no. Sapmari JB School, Kokrajhar
- 130 polling booth at Tilpukhuri LP School, North Abhayapuri
Pertaining to such inevitable hindrances, voting had to started much later than the stipulated time of 7 am in the morning. Voters who had queued up early in the morning had to face problems in view of the dysfunctional EVMs.
