Earlier, winning the toss, England scored 119 runs for 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs at Assam Cricket Association's (ACA) Barsapara Stadium. Later, chasing the small target, Indian team fell short by just 1 run despite skipper Smriti Mandhana's 39-ball 58. Veteran player Mithali Raj remained unbeaten for 30 in 32 balls.
This was India's seventh straight loss in the T20I format.
