Ahead of the upcoming Brahmaputra Pushkar Mela, to be held in Guwahati from November 5 to November 12, the government of Assam has been constructing embankments near the Bharalu River to filter the unhygienic and polluted water to flow into the Brahmaputra River. The 12-day long festival will be held in the ghats of Brahmaputra from Bharalumukh to the Fancy Bazar area.
