Elvis AliHazarika became the first person from Assam to swim across the Catalina Channelin United States of America (USA).
Accordingto reports, Hazarika began from the US and swum across the Channel to reachMexico. He covered a distance of 80 kms within a span of 10 hours and 59minutes.
The feathad been achieved amidst high risks as the water body in that area is wellknown for sharks.In light ofIndependence Day, the international swimmer dedicated his swim to Abhi-Neel.
