Drugs Smuggling Continues in Assam

Drugs smuggling in the state continued unabated and in a recent caseNagaon police in an operation has seized four packets of brown sugar from Rohaon Tuesday night. Police also apprehended four drug smugglers.

A team of Nagaon police under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Rosy Kalita have launched the operation after they received information of drug smuggling through internal source. The police have seized the brown sugar packets and apprehended four smugglers including one lady.

The drugs were being carried from Guwahati to Nagaon in a vehiclebearing number AS 01 AR 2878. The brown sugar weighs around 60 kilograms.

The arrested smugglers are Muktar Ali, Hannan Ali, Fulsan Ali andSakina Begum.

Police said that the drugs have been brought from Manipur.
