Voting in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council in Dima Hasao district of Assam is being held today in 28 constituencies across 280 polling stations between 7 am to 3 pm.
The Dima Hasao Autonomous Council which is under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule at present is expected to witness a tripartite competition in this election.
122341 voters will decide the fate of 129 candidates in the autonomous council.
The Counting of vote will be held on January 22, 2019 from 8 am onwars till the completion of counting.
It is to be mentioned that few days back tension prevailed in Dima Hasao Autonomous Council after balot papers and stamps were recovered from a press in Lumding.
There was allegations against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Sanpo Campri of being linked with the incident. Campri is a close associate of 15 no Hatikhali's BJP candidate Kulendra Daulagupu.
