Dhubri: Fake India Currency Seized, 2 Held

Two persons have been arrested in Dhubri district following the recovery of fake Indian currency notes from their possession. Dhubri police arrested the duo with the fake Indian currency accounted for Rs. 2lakh.

Police seized the money from Binnachara along the India-Bangladesh border in Dhubri district. "400 numbers of fake currencies in total of Rs. 500 denomination each were seized," police informed.

"Acting on a tip-off, a team of Dhubri police led by Dhubri Additional Superintendent of Police  Rosyrani Sarma accompanied with Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted the two persons near Binnachara village located near the international border this evening and seized from them around 400 fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination with face value of Rs 2 lakh from their possession," police informed. 

The arrested persons have been identified as Hussain Ali, a resident of Binnachara part IV village under Golakganj police station of Dhubri district while the another has been identified as Moslem Ali who is a resident of Baladoba village under Dhubri police station. 

"Both have been arrested. They are suspected international FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes) racketeers. We are grilling them to find out whether they are part of any big racket or not," Dhubri Police further informed.
