TheCotton University Students' Union (CUSU) on Monday urged all the politicalparties to make their stand clear on CAB.
The Secretary of CUSU Rahul Bordoloi announced a signature campaign against CAB and that 5000 Cottonian will give a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Hesaid that they will also give a 'Gamosa' to the Prime Minister as a symbol ofthe protest. "We will also gherao the BJP office and will organize a culturalprotest against CAB," said Bordoloi.
Addressinga press conference today, the members of CUSU said, "We are protesting againstCAB and will continue the protest till the government's decision to scrap thecontentious bill."
Reactingon AGP's stand on CAB, the CUSU said that the people of Assam will not forgive themif they won't take any step against the bill.
TheCottonians' will stage protest by involving all levels of people adding thatthe people should reject AGP and Assam Sahitya Sabha who cannot take a boldstep against CAB which will destroy the rights of the indigenous people of thestate.
TheCUSU also threatened Congress and asked them to withdraw the two-prongedpolicy.
Theyfurther stated that if the government won't listen to the people of Assam then thesituation of 1979 will return adding that the government will be responsible ifAssam sheds with blood.
TheCUSU also condemned state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the statementmade on the assembly as 'Joy Bangla'. They will also lodge a case against thefinance minister.
Theyfurther reiterated that Assam can't be run from Nagpur and Delhi as there arestill self-reliant people in the state. "We made Assam free from Mughals andnow we will make the state free from Bangladeshis," said CUSU.
