COVID-19: Tripura to Start Antigen Test from Monday

The Tripura government is going to start house-to-house COVID-19 tests across the state soon. In the first phase, the tests will be conducted at 28 containment zones.

The Tripura government is going to start house-to-house COVID-19 tests across the state soon. In the first phase, the tests will be conducted at 28 containment zones. After the completion of tests in these areas, the tests will be conducted at other places in the state.

This was informed by the State Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath. He said that at present, 7629 people are living in the containment zones.

The health workers will go to every house and screen the members and those found with fever and symptoms will go through the COVID-19 test.

The test will be done through the antigen detection kit.

The government will also conduct the tests for all passengers of flights, trains and by road in spot starting next week.

The health workers will collect swab samples of the passengers during their entry into the state and they will have to stay at that point till their results come.

It will take a maximum of one hour's time for the result.

If anyone found positive then the person will be sent to COVID care centre from that spot.

Those tested negative will be sent to home quarantine for 14 days.

The minister said that said the State needs 40,000 antigen detection kits and at present there are 15,000 kits available in the state.

The minister said that test report will come within 30 minutes.
