Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday said that he will contest 2021 assembly election if he remains fit. While addressing a press conference in Guwahati, the senior Congress leader said that, Congress will come to power in Assam in 2021, as Modi magic has gradually fading away.
"Panchayat election results showed that BJP has lost faith among the public," said Gogoi. He also targeted AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal during the press meet. Gogoi said that there might be a secret understanding between BJP and AIUDF. "I have heard that BJP has paid Ajmal's helicopter's price during election campaign," said Gogoi.
Commenting on panchayat election results in Congress leaders' constituency, the Ex-CM said, "Congress showed good results in Rakibul Hussain's constituency." He agreed that the party showed bad results in constituencies of Ripun Bora, Sarat Borkotoky and Pradyut Bordoloi; but said that the leaders have not spent times in their own constituencies during campaigning; hence the outcomes were not in favour of the party.
